The first by far, 2 was ok, 3 was just retarded.

Matrix... there was at least some hope that it would all come together and all your questions would be answered. Besides I was good enough to stand alone. Reloaded was passable. I HATED revolutions. The plot seem SOOO contrived and slapped together and the effects were WAY over done. The whole series suffers from the downward spiral of sequel movies

The first Matrix movie was awesome. I hate to say it, but Reloaded and Revolutions pretty much sucked plotwise even though they did have a few nice action sequences. If you want a good plot, the first one is the way to go. If you want good sci-fi action, then I'd recommend the third. The second one just kinda sucked all around except for the tractor-trailer fight scene.

Best for what? If you're talking about the best at putting you to sleep, then it's a tie between Reloaded and Revolutions.

Original Matrix, by far. The concepts were so interesting so exciting. There were so many possibilities. They unfortunately, went for the least interesting ones.

The first one. Sequels are never as good as the original... except Godfather 2 and Toy Story 2.
