I want to stop shaaving my legs and only wax them. I tried to wax once so far, but it left a lot of hair on my legs that I couldn't seem to wax off. I used the Veet wax kit, and also Nair roll on wax. I feel like I am not doing it right, is there a special technique for leg waxing?

You have to wait for the hair to grow out a little so it can be picked up by waxing. If it's too short then it will be a little tough for all of it to come out.

Nad's is the best to wax with...

Try waxing right after you take a bath, it's less painful and the hair comes out much easier after your body is soaked with water for a few minutes.... Just make sure that your legs are completely dry otherwise the wax will stick on them rather than pulling the hair out!

The waxing experience is great. I shaved for decades, until some friends talked me into going to a salon and getting waxed...eyebrows too!!!! Beats shaving and plucking. You do have to let the hair grow out a bit to have the waxing work well. About a month or so, and it will generally last up to 8 weeks, I try to plan it out so that I will have deliciously smooth legs for the July through August time period...the most of beach/shorts and skirt season. Another great thing is that for a lot of people your hair will actually become so fine and/or disappear you will not have to wax or Nair or shave ever again. The girl that has been waxing my legs and brows for the past three years told me I'll probably not need to have my legs waxed again after this coming year...Just think of all the time and money I will save. I know some women that actually have their underarms waxed, but the ouch factor just gets to me. It is too difficult to pull the strips off, by yourself unless you have a lot of upper body strength and are quick: with as much force as is necessary to do a really good job and get your legs as smooth as silk. Good luck and happy waxing!!!!

First, Myra, it seems that you are using low quality waxing products. They are likely to be both inefficient and painful.
Better products will make you and your legs happier.

Second, waxing is rather harsh on your legs. As an experienced massage therapist, I am aware of the great benefit of leg massage--particularly if you are waxing away. A few hours of massage per week will be really helpful for you if you are waxing.

If you want more specific tips, just let me know.

You need to go to a salon, at least for the first 3-4 times. Then, after your hair is not so coarse, and you've watched how they do it, you can start doing it yourself. Those products you mentioned do not work well, you need to go to the beauty supply store and buy actual wax (it comes in a can) with a warmer, or there are refillable roll-ons that come with their own warmer. That works the best.

Let your hair grow at least an eighth of an inch long, then use Nair and follow instructions.

you have to let the hair grow for a while and get long. I would also advise you to use sally hansen wax. it's better. you can either get the purple one or the blue one.
