could i use my yahoo account to join msm hotmail?

"MSN Hotmail" is an e-mail service -- you don't need any other account to join it. If you just want MSN Messenger (instant-messaging), you can use your yahoo e-mail address to sign up for that, you don't need a Hotmail account (any valid e-mail address will do).

if you're joining hotmail, then you need to register for a hotmail address. If you're getting a profile for MSN Messenger, yes, you can use your yahoo email address.
