I've seen white people lapse into ebonics when talking to black people. I get embarrassed for them. Do they know how silly they sound? I don't think twice when a black person uses ebonics but it just doesn't sound smooth and natural coming from a white person.

yeah, some people do, but that's the way they talk. i mean they don't turn it on just for me, but i have seen people do it. i agree, it is very amusing and i usually get a good laugh out of it, but it is also some of the lamest things i have seen people do. i wonder about a person who can switch on and off things like speech and personality so easily.

White people don't because I am white (except the weird ones who try and act like gangstas). Some black people do and I just look at them funny until they either speak english or someone else comes to take my order. j/k - everyone's thowing out so many racial barbs on here today I couldn't resist a tasteless joke.
