Boston is a wonderful city with a ton of things to do!! Decide first of all if you want to stay in the city or take day trips. Within the city limits are tons of museums, parks, restaurants, historical sights and shopping. Outside of the city are the Cape, Maine and the north shore of Mass that might be fun to visit also.
Good Luck, I am from there, and I still love going and just hanging around in the city. Make sure to visit Faneuil Hall, The North End, Cambridge, The Aquarium, The Public Gardens, Museum of Fine Art,, etc etc!!!!

Walk the Freedom Trail, most of the historic sites in Boston are along that. The Old South Meeting House, Paul Revere House, Old North Church, old cemeteries and stuff. Also shop at the original Filene's Basement, go to Harvard Square and see the campus in Cambridge, and walk around a lot of the neighborhoods in Boston (Beacon Hill, North End, Brookline - JFK's Birthplace is there). And eat at one of the Italian restaurants in the North End too, and also go to Mike's Pastry. Don't miss Mike's Pastry. (My family won't let me visit them without bringing home Mike's Pastry..... kidding but I always bring it home). Oh and the Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, right near each other... both worthwhile too.

The Paul Revere house and lobster. Also, when I went I saw Nathaniel Hawthornes gravestone. Boston is a really cool city with interesting little neighborhoods. Italian, Irish, and they didn't let them get overun by other minorities like mexicans and dilute the culture like other big cities have. Good food and MANY intelligent people there. Fanueli Hall is also great!

Check out the historic downtown area. They have great walking tours around the chappel hill area. Also look for Quincy Market and the harbor area. That's always popular. If you want to, stop by the Bull and Finch Pub that they used for the Cheers model.
