It was a pretty common fairy tale (or not), and no one seems to remeber it. guess they didn't make a disney moive of it
All i can remeber is a girl walking threw a forest of gold and sliver trees, then coming i think apon a castle.
Anything you can say, like a name or another bit of what you think the story might be, pleaes go ahead and do so...

The seven dancing sisters. 7 princess sisters who sneak out dancing every night - they go in a boat and then through a forest of gold and silver trees to a castle. They ultimately get caught because their slippers were worn out every morning.

Oddly enough, I seem to recall something like this as well. Maybe I'm thinking of an ice or crystal forest..
