People say the "N" word because they are either ignorant or careless; or rather, they are speaking carelessly. I.e. no matter how caring or "not-caring" a person they may be, at the time they use that term they are speaking in disregard of anyone who might be offended by it. It is safe to say that almost anyone, in this day and age, who uses the word, realizes that there are people who find it offensive. So when they use it anyway, they are speaking carelessly -- either accidentally, as in "oops, I slipped"; or intentionally, as in "I said it and I don't give a _ _ _ _ what someone else might think or how they might feel"; or worst of all, thoughtlessly, as in "If I had thought it would affect him/her/them/anyone that way, I wouldn't have said it. Then, there are those who DON'T realize that there are people who find it offensive. One would have to consider them ignorant.

The "N" word is heard more often in the black community. It is common. The "Sand N" word is almost always heard from whites. It means Arab or Muslim. It eally does not bother me too much. I was called a "gold N" at work the other night. I wasn't sure at the time what to do, but I now understand it was a complement, even though it was racist. I just shine a little more.

They say it because it's one way to refer to certain groups of people. Sometimes, they don't like them, and they may have good reason for not liking them, but people should try not to generalize too much. There are nice people and not nice people in all races and nationalities. But you have to admit that there are racial and cultural differences. It isn't just about color. And people who would fall into the category of "N" word people... they do that same thing! In fact, I'd say many of them are even MORE prejudiced than other groups of people are. We all discriminate to some extent. Sometimes people are prejudiced against fat people, short people, tall people, skinny people.... others have certain nationalities that they don't care for. People in the human race just don't all like each other! When I hear somebody call a caucasian "honkey" (an outdated slang word)... it doesn't insult me. It's just a word that refers to a person of a certain race or background. "Sticks & stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me." I think some people need to stop being so defensive and oversensitive.

The people who say it are stupid. That is the same thing like calling a white person a "cracker." Nobody likes to be called out of their name! Ii is rude and ignorant. God doesn't like it and neither do I, being an African American.

The "N" word when used as "n i g g A" is a term of endearment when used by a black person. The "N" word when used as "n i g g ER" is a derogatory term. Sand "N" is used as the derogatory form, where as most middle easterners wouldn't use this term even in casual conversation.

Ignorance and zero tolerance for people with different views (or color) This country was built by racists, unfortunately, over the last couple hundred years, we haven't grown out of it as a society.

Because people don't have respect or consider others feelings about things. That is why people should just grow up and get over their anger. People say bad things to make themselves feel better.
