I have only known one person from Iran and that was while I was in college for an engineering degree. He was an alright guy and he used to go to lunch with me and my best friend who was from Turkey.
With that said, us Americans know very little about Iranian culture except that muslem is your religion. As far as the history of Iran, from what I understand, Iran has no history of being an aggressive state. Their history is of being more defensive rather than trying to start wars. I really have no negative feelings about Iran.
The problem right now is that Americans are being brainwashed into believing all person from the nations of Islam want to hurt us or are terrorists. The majority of Americans are unaware that Islamic values do not condone violence. Unfortunately, the propaganda is making most Americans ignorant to fact.
For example, our media misinterpreted a speech by your leader where they said that he said Israel should be wiped off the face of the earth. It was only two days ago when I was watching PBS that I heard that was a false interpretation to English and is not what he actually said. Unfortunately, now most Americans have heard that and are convinced Iran wants war.

There are some good Iranian people and good people from all walks of life! The problem is that you have a rougue government ran by a crazed President that hates and wants the destruction of Israel and cannot be trusted. Iran also supports a lot of terroist activity which is well known. But if you are a good person and love Americans, that's great! I have no problem at all with that as I don't go around labeling all Arab people as terroists.

I don't dislike or hate people who are from Iran or any other country. I know that it is unfair to label every middle-eastern person as a terrorist. It is just unfortunate that an extreme few ruin it for everyone Else, who do not have the same fundamental idealism of hate and destruction as they do. Many people have questions about your President, he seems to want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and seems to want to start some trouble and then they also say Iran backs and support terrorist, so people just in general see this on TV and that is what they think the people of Iran want also. I wish that nuclear weapons would have never been invented and the world was not full of hostile, hateful people who in a moment of shear madness ruin it for everyone. I wish that all terrorist would just stop there insanity and fall off the earth. When (the terrorist) are killing your own people and innocent people, what good can you possible think you will get out of it. People at times do not realize like I said before, that not every middle-eastern person is a terrorist. I think we all want the same things, we would all like to see our kids grow up in peace. But as long as you have hateful people in this world bent on killing you will never have peace.

How about passing a word from the wise to your countrymen!
We can blow away entire nations, without Nuclear weapons, we have MOABs. 22,000lb conventional smart bombs with nuke blast power but NO radiation.
M…..Mother
O…..of
A…..all
B…..bombs
WE have Tomahawks with fuel-air explosive war heads. The big Tomahawks can carry 10 war heads. They can burn entire cities with fuel-air explosive.
First the MOAB, when the shock wave clears, in comes the Tomahawk. The entire city is flattened and then burned with fuel-air explosive. The fuel-air explosive burns everything left and it burns off all the oxygen. There is no way to survive!
With our satellites we can target every Arab city in any terrorist nation, and then lock them all into a firing solution. Then at 3am any morning the order was given, every Arab city targeted could be blown clean off the face of the Earth, all at the same time.
If I know this from watching TV, and our military hides way more than I know. Then our military has way more firepower than this. If Iran pushes to far it could mean no more Iran. This is not a good thing, but can very well happen.
So give your people a heads up, tell them we can only be pushed so far then all hell will break loose, and Iran could be " Dust in the Wind"!

I believe Iranians are a dignified and ancient race of people who deserve greater respect than they are afforded by the Americanized global community. I think we are all individuals but as a culture let me say this
1st, Iran i congratulate you on going your own way and developing the nuclear power programme-something which should not be greedily monopolized by the West.
2nd, Iran you are a passionatley spiritual people which gives great dignity, honour and uniqueness to your people. Well done in not folding to the global pressure of "fitting in".
3rd-Iran you are very religious and personally i find that intimadating a little. But thats my problem and challenge to understand.
I hope some day as a white English speaking Irish Westerner i may visit your country and enjoy sharing the differences in culture. The bulldozer of democracy is a bad excuse to fear and reprimand a people for wanting to remain different and unique.
You are different but dignified in that unique difference.
Now-tell me what you think of The West? Really,

Well for starters Iran is helping to fund the terrorist group Hezbollah. Second Iran is helping North Korea develop missiles capable of possibly targeting a United States city. Third Iran is enriching Uranium for energy purposes supposedly. But if that were true they would take the energy package proposed by the United Nations. And also your president acts a bit like a terrorist. As you could imagine, this could cause some trust issues.

As an American I love all people on this earth. I think many people are misguided because they see Arabs people buring the US flag, this is indirectly attacking them. People in america would greatly respect people of Arab countries more, if the common people speak out harsly against terriorism attacks. Stage rallies denouncing their actions and cowardness for hidding behind innocent women and children, even putting bombs inside Donkeys. If the greater Arab community spoke out against these acts of violence with such a strong force, many people here in America would change their views of how it is in the middle east. Also, showing grattitude for what the US in doing in Iraq would be helpful. The US is attempting to set up a democracy in the middle east with hopes that surrounding countries will follow. This will mean peace, human rights, freedom of religion, etc will flow freely and result in a better world for us all.

I am a sixth generation American. I was brought up to believe there are good people and bad people in every race and religion. Most all of the human race starts out as good. Unfortunately those who turn bad get caught up in someone Else's hatred of others. I think most Iranians in America are good people. I get mad though when I hear them complaining and bashing this country. If it is so bad then why don't they go back to there own country. No, I don't think all Iranians are terrorist..........that's just dumb.

your english is just fine, more intelligible than some of those born here in the US participating on this website. if i might speak for the vast majority of us in the US, we don't know much about iranians. if you were to travel into our 'countryside', you would run into lots and lots of less educated, closed minded, superstitious americans (think of them as the red states) that usually react to foreigners and the rest of the world in general with fear first and focus on our two cultures differences primarily and think of our similarities as happy, lucky coincidences. we are underinformed and that has never stopped from behaving foolishly on the world's stage before. your country's nuclear potential worries us to the bones. if our leaders decide to play the fear card during the next election cycle your country will quite likely be shown in the crosshairs. the fantasy of a worldwide, 20 year, ceasefire and weapons production haitus, and global cultural exchange program won't happen unless the global majority, actually a majority in every one of the world's countries, stands up and demands a little more sanity.

I was brought up to see a person an individual reguardless of where they come from. It's how the people how personality wise, that people judge. People think most Iranians are terrorist extremist, etc is because of the real terrorist that are on TV and glorifying the deaths of Americans. I see Iranians as I see any other person, but be proud of your heritage. Also, don't be a stereotype.
