Why do those MPs stand up and sit down again during PMQ?
Any particular reason? I am serious. Thanks.

Should be to ask questions of national importance. However most Labour are asking questions they have been given to ask. Most questions are tabled days in advance so Blair can get his answer worked out. The opposition except fot Tory and Liberal leaders stand to try and get Blair to answer a question. It is all stage managed and pathetic really. I suppose they have to show us the £100,000 + they cost us for each of them is working. Joke.

Hoping to catch Mr.Speaker's eye in order that he might give them a chance to air their thoughts on whatever topic they happen to be drivelling about.

Sometimes it's to protest against something that was said...or make themselves seen to the rest of the house.

I think it is so they can try to put their question forward, they show they have a question by standing up.
