I see so many people that wear the same name brand hanging out with each other. Most of the time, people wearing K-Mart or Wal-Mart do not hang out with the really cool people. What is it about a name brand that causes this? What is it about a symbol like a moose for A&F or and eagle for AE? I have to say that I think it is hot when a guy or a girl wear name brand clothes, but I am trying to figure out why. Please help me figure this out.

Better looking clothes tend to cost more money. You aren't going to find really well made attractive clothing at Wal*Mart, I mean yea I think Wal*Mart has nice clothes once in a while but I am a sucker for a guy in A&F. The style is just a turn on. Remember quality not quantity!

Cause people are gold diggers and if you see those brands you think they must have money. Also those brands set the standards for what clothing is hip then walmart or kmart tries to keep up yet keep there costs down so they never look the same. It is just a brand name and you will find as you get older unless you are a gold digger that these names won't mean anything..

Name brands are just expensive and not any better except people like you think it is "hot" (Like Paris Hilton the ho would say). I'm a rebellous person and I wear wal mart and JC penny clothes. I love it!

Because people tend to be petty elitists, especially in the school setting (and sadly in life as well) money makes you cool. Having money means you can afford these things, ergo, you are cool. Unfortunately, the people who have the money to afford these things usually don't have a scrap of personality or critical thought in their A&F cap wearing heads.

it's like collective gangster mentality.it symbolizes that they're part of a crew and wear similar clothing to feel like they belong.i think some are tacky and probably only wear it to look cool because a particular image is stereotyped to particular brands/styles of clothing.

walmart and kmart sell trash clothes, their shirts have like a 40 thread count which make them coarse and cheap looking. a higher thread count makes them softer and more pleasing to look at. you can tell a walmart shirt from across the parking lot. one size fits all. why do you think that people who get their clothing from walmart always wear it before washing it? after the first wash and it fades and shrinks, the initial luster is gone and it looks like they dug it out of the hamper.

thats a good question, because hollister and ambercrombie are f*cking ugly. if you want to be/act cool and preppy go buy some Coach or something.
