I did not, but in my business dealings with Siemens I met a German VP of one of my suppliers who was an 8 year old living outside of Munich during the war.

And he told me the following: He and his friends would watch the American bomber streams and specifically watch for unexploded incindiearies as they fell to earth. They would then collect them and use them as rocket tubes to shoot off the unexploded explosives.

A bizarre view of the war, but I found it so interesting to picture these young German boys and their sense of adventure in the midst of our horrendous bombing campaign of their country.
