Yes, I met RDA (Richard Dean Anderson - MacGyver, Stargate) years ago (1990 or 1991) outside of the Hyatt Regency in Dallas. I knew he was going to be in Dallas for an exhibition hockey game between Team USA and the Soviet Commonwealth because he was the team captain of Team USA. I convinced my dad to buy hockey tickets and airline tickets so we could fly to Dallas to meet him. Everyone thought it was a far-fetched idea but my dad agreed to it anyway. There were two games that night - the Team USA game and then an all-star game that didn't include Team USA. When Team USA was finished playing, I followed a few of the players to the entrance of the locker room where I met one of the team's employees. I told him what I was doing there and he told me that RDA had left the stadium and went to attend the Team USA post-game banquet at the Hyatt Regency. When I told the employee my story about buying tickets, flying to Dallas, and dragging my father with me just to meet RDA, he thought it would be a tragedy if I didn't get to meet him. So he told me how to get to the Hyatt Regency and how to get into the banquet without a VIP pass - "Tell the people at the door that Snickers sent you." Then I left the stadium, went to the Hyatt Regency, found the convention room, told them that Snickers sent me, and they let me in! Apparently though, I was the first to arrive because no one else was there yet. However, they did have an open bar. So I had a glass of wine, and another glass of wine. In the meantime, the members of Team USA were starting to arrive. I met one player and told him my story. Then he told someone else... who told someone else. After about an hour, every Team USA player knows why I'm there, they're all trying to find RDA for me, and I'm drunk. Eventually, someone grabbed me and told me that RDA was in the lobby and about to leave the hotel. So I left the banquet and chased him down infront of the hotel. When I was face to face with him, I couldn't speak. I knew what I wanted to say but I was too terrified - the words just wouldn't come out. He eventually broke the silence and started talking to me first. The whole meeting took place in like a minute and a half. All he had time for was an autograph. I asked if I could take a picture but he said no because he was under contract. By the way, RDA is TALL.
My poor dad. The whole time this was going on, he was still at the stadium watching the second hockey game. My dad doesn't even like hockey. But the evening was definitely one of my most memorable experiences - I met the members of Team USA (I got their autographs too), got drunk for free, and I accomplished my goal.
And I will never do it again.

Occasionally, a celebrity blows through Madison, Wisconsin, but I don't bother to attend because they are usually campaigning liberal communists. I would rather attend a grand opening of a local landfill then see them.
