I don't see it causing any severe health problems and you cannot OD on it. Alchohol and smoking are much more dangerous than this plant. May be it is time it becomes legal?

Then again if it is legalized kids will get easier access to it and that'll be a bad thing. Kids shouldn't focus their time smoking marijuana.

NO!

marijuana, despite what people say, is a bad drug. first of all, it makes you retarded. it makes you depressed. kills your memory. lowes your sperm count. impairs your judgement.

i dont know if marijuana is anymore dangerous than alcohol...although, i guess ya it is because pot COMPLETELY changes your state of conciousness where as alcohol makes you feel a little different but youre still relatively in the same mind.

either way, the last thing our country needs is more legal drugs.

Some kids got high, decided to drive, they get so paranoid they decide to do under the limit. they're careful at turns so no cops see them doing stupid things. they get home.
Some kids got drunk, decided to drive, they got stupid and caused a 15-car accident on the freeway, everyone dies.

If it was legalized, I feel less kids would be smoking it. It's a drug, kids love drugs. Legalize it and they won't like it as much.

America is too stubborn about some stuff. Netherlands? Sure, smoke away. They don't go to war, they just hang out, get high, and go on with the day.

ALSOOOOO, Medicinal marijuana should be legalized all over the country. Montel WIlliams, he tokes. Ya know why? 'Cause it's the only thing that'll help his arthritis (or whatever he has).

I can vouche that it kills your memory, and of course it's not good for your lungs, but there's no chemicals in the non-existing filter, and it doesn't kill your lungs. It also doesn't screw up your liver, and you don't usually become extremely violent.

I could go on all day, so I'll stop.

The argument that Alcohol and cigars are more dangerous therefore we should legalize marijuana is a stupid idea. Most illegal mind-altering chemicals that have no officially recognized medical use are also in that category. Justifying marijuana legalization that way would provide an argument for nearly half of petty designer drugs.

Alcohol and tobacco are legal because they would be impossible to get rid of socially. Otherwise they would be illegal in the US as well.

Come up with a better argument, such as the economic benefits, regulation or safety.

No, kids should spend more time playing computer games and watching reality TV.

In case you hadn't noticed, no one has any problem getting marijuana now, legal or not. Of course it should be legal.

The only reason it isn't is because it's a plant. A little dirt, a little fertilizer, and you've got yourself some pot. No way the government can get its cut, if you can grow it next to your tomato plants with ease. If they can figure out a way to control its sale, as they have done with alcohol and tobacco, it'll be legalized so fast it will make your head spin.

it should be legal. the only reason it is not, is cuz the government cant tax it and they make more money making people pay fines for getting caught with it. it's just a plant. it dont have any added chemicals. walk out in the woods with a paper and pick u off a bud and smoke the damn thing (well break it up and destem and seed it) it cant hurt you, but it sure can give you a coughing fit. when was the last time you heard of someone getting in a wreck when they were high? i didnt think so.........

First, I'm voting ((((kill yr tele)))) for best answer.

Now, my opinion.... Alcohol and tobacco are legal drugs because they can be regulated and sold ONLY by the government. They are highly addictive. Studies show that tobacco is as addictive as heroin! Both of these legal drugs are killing people, unlike marijuana. Have you ever heard/known of anyone overdosing on pot? There are no positive affects from either of those legal drugs either, also unlike marijuana. Some of the uses of cannabis are fuel, paper products, clothes, shampoo & lotion, and lots of medicinal purposes.... just to name a few.
The government doesn't want to legalize it ~ for the same reason they aren't supportive of herbal remedies/cures, because too many people would grow their own medicine. Plus, the Govn't is making even more money from tabacco and alcohol, due to all of the illnesses they cause...... It's all about the Benjamins!

On a more personal note:
I know people who use medicinal marijuana (more pure) for Cancer, MS & Aids.... They would fight to the death FOR it too!
I have friends who use it recreationally. They have never been in trouble with the law, don't sell drugs, don't use any other substances, are hard workers, and generally very good people with great hearts.
I wouldn't trade them for an alcoholic on their worst day!

Beer is manmade ~ Pot is God's creation ~ Who do you trust?

Did you know we have a natural level of THC in our systems? A lot of people are disputing the accuracy of drug testing, because people of ethnicity are more likely to get a false-positive due to their 'natural levels' being higher!?

Did you know that you will get a greater sentence for selling weed than rape? WTF?

I am aware that smoking marijuana does cause the same damages as smoking tobacco i.e. lung, throat and mouth cancer, but it wouldn't if it were sold in pill-form and I think between what we save in drug war costs (arrests, court, detainment) and the actual sale of mary jane, we'd be outta the deficit in no time!

P.S. There are hundreds of questions pertaining to this same topic in yahoo!7Answers :)

countless human beings have stated 'with a prescription', yet it really is not any longer actual, precisely. docs aren't any further allowed to prescribe pot. they could merely 'recommend' it. there's a kind you could obtain and get your physician to signal, and then when you're carrying this manner you could own as a lot as 8 oz. of pot. Pot is offered in some espresso homes which also are registered with the state. And there are deepest organizations issuing photo id playing cards to assist develop into conscious of you as someone who has the right to purchase pot. there is an area in Oakland said as 'Oaksterdam' that has the places the position pot is offered, also education in starting to be, and so on. My GF has been by this procedure. She has maximum cancers and is having chemotherapy (actually she's doing ok, thank God). She were given the variety signed, were given an id card, and has offered pot some situations. it is sturdy pot too, and extremely quite-priced. i imagine it somewhat helps her. Pot remains unlawful on the federal aspect, and once in a lengthy time period the DEA is provided in and closes down the espresso homes. even if the state gained't prosecute us. in reality many cities in California have determined no longer to waste police and courtroom time on minor marijuana offenses.

It should be legal. It’s far less dangerous, addicting or debilitating than alcohol and just as ingrained in the society. The problem is that it’s a weed and can be grown by anyone with half a brain so the government can’t regulate or tax it and the drug companies can’t package it so it remains illegal. Simple as that.

As if kids don't already have access to it today?

yzyz, legalize now. Slap the same restrictions on it as there are on alcohol, put it behind-the-counter at drugstores. Fcuk it, let the government tax what is sold, not all cannabis consumers will grow their own.

Yes It should be. It should be sold in stores next to tobacco, acholhol and firearms. That's why this is America. You should be able to do whatever you want with your body as long as you can decide for yourself(i.e over 18 and of a sound mind.)
