I know this is inapropriate but I would like to defend my ground.
First of all I have taken my son to the speacialists etc.
I too am a devote pagan.
As in healing I didnt mean spells for his brain damage etc,I ment sleeping patterns, eating.I have to also say that telling someone that there isnt enough magik in the world to cure this disabilty is totaly unpeacialful and just blunt IGNORANT!Im not in denial and was in no way looking for this type of critism, espeacialy froma pagan community. You couldnt even offer CONSTRUCTIVE critism.Thank you for offering your anserw to my question but in no retrospect will I thank you for making me feel like an inadaquate mother and that of a practicing wiccan.

I read the answers you're talking about and, in all honesty, I don't blame you for being defensive. Not in the least. If I were in your position, I'd feel the same way.

It seems to have slipped the responders minds (especially one in particular) that some parents will go to any lengths to find a way or ways to help or cope with a situation that their child has been dealt in life. And it doesn't matter if its an injury, a disability or a sickness. Asking for any ideas or useful methods or simple parental suggestions does not warrant the way you were treated. And that goes for anyone who asks a question either online in one of these boards or face to face. NO ONE should make you feel inadequate in any way shape or form at any point in time.

Yes, the criticism you received for simply asking is deplorable. What makes it worse is that it was from members of the pagan community. It may not have been completely from the pagan community but that doesn't excuse it one bit.

Blessings to you and your son and I pray you find the answers which you seek.

(For those of you who are wondering just what answers she's referring to, they can be found under wiccan healers.)

Do not let anyone make you feel like an inadequate mother, by asking for alternative solutions to a health problem some people are just plain ignorant to the possibilities that we have, medicine from a doctor is all that some people know or believe and that makes them inadequate not you, Where I am from if I asked the same question that you did I would get the same disrespect, do not let the ignorant people in the world keep you from asking these very "real" and important questions. my son also has a problem and I hope if your son improves you will share the secret with us who cares.

Never allow anyone to make you feel like you are not being a good mom. People try to say I am a bad mom because I do not put my daughter in a snowsuit even when there is no snow. People are weird and have no clue what they are talking about. Mothers know whats best for their children. Just ignore all of those people , most of them probably do not even have children !

Don't stress it. Some folks pray for their sick, some burn candles, some burn sacred herbs, some cast spells, most do a combination of all of them. Studies have shown that people do heal faster when energy is raised for them through prayer or other means, so do what feels right. Even if it doesn't help your son (it will though!) it will help you get through this tough time so that you can be there for him. That is just as important.
