I am 18 weeks pregnant ( 4 1/2 months) and I fell down the stairs in my house? I called my midwife she said go to the ER to be on the safe side. It was almost time for me to go to work and I was'nt in pain so I went to work. Now I am at work my lower back is hurting, but I don't want to sit in the ER for about 4-5 hours before they can see me. My next DR. appointment is Friday morning. HELLLPP what should I do? I already told my boss he was ok with it.

Thanks everybody but I was in the ER for 7 hours they called me after waiting for 4 hours. Got an ultrasound and baby is fine. But as for me I f**ked up my neck. Now that why I did not want to go because of the waiting period.

Go to the ER. Sure, it may feel like you are wasting time, but better safe than sorry. And what would you say to people if your baby got hurt or killed? "oh, i fell down the stairs but didn't want to wait in the ER so i went to work". that sounds really bad. For the sake of the baby, go get it checked out, please. Good luck!

I hope you've already been and come back by the time you read this and that everything is OK. Are you sure you didn't hit your head when you fell too? Your midwife told you to go to the ER and you got on this site and asked all us MORONS for a second opinion! .....Mommy oops #1

go to the ER just to be on the safe side. The ER usually will not make you wait if you are pregnant and tell the situation.

I would go to the ER. The possibility of saving your pregnanacy is worth sitting in ER for 4 or 5 hours isn;t it?

Girl, go to the doctor. Nothing is worth your health or the health of your baby. There may be serious complications related to that fall that need to be checked out ASAP. You need to know if your placenta is still in tact etc.... I just had a baby and I had a very hard pregnancy so I know that being somewhere you don't want to be can be irritating..but in the grand scheme of things, its worth it!

I would go, but be easy. My dog pulled me down the stairs when I was 8 months pregnant. You'd be amazed at how protected your baby is inside you.
