Have you tried right clicking first?
Shut you computer down, plug in the flash drive, then boot-up.
Once Windows is running locate the flash drive and right click on the icon.
Sometimes that works. If it doesn't you can access Systems by navigating through the Control Panel, click on the Device Manager tab. If you see an yellow exclamation mark in the Universal Serial Bus controllers area you'll have to click on the affected device and troubleshoot it.
You might need to get some drivers or something. Most flash drives are ready to use, but if you need to load up drivers just "google" the manufacturer of the drive and go to their site and see if they have drivers for you to download. If they do they're usually free.
I hope this helps. If all else fails and you have to get a new one try http://www.directron.com/usbdrive.html or http://www.edgetechcorp.com/usb-flash-drives/diskgo-classics.asp
Good Luck

Well, first off ask yourself when did this start happening, then you need to figure out what you put on there. But I believe to format your flash disk, althoigh i've never done it to mind; just like all the drives you should be able to right click on it, and there should be a format option. But if you're just simply clicking on it then it might be you have too much on the drive and the computer can't process it. Try what I suggested, if you haven't already, if that doesn't work maybe you should try formatting it on a friends computer and see if it happens on theirs as well. If so, well then I'd say your flash disk is a gonner.
