why does everything seem better in hindsight, memories etc?

Cause u blank out the bad bits , only remembering good things like when u r akid u remember great things about old schoolfriends not when u fell out with them

Well Steve hindsight is the possession of knowledge, experience, and skill of a previous event. Because we have these qualities it enables us to succesfully see that the situation could have been delt with differently, or that at that time things were not so bad. Only having the knowledge, experience and skills upto a certain point in our lives gives us an abillity to deal with situations upto that point in our lives, new experiences however offer new knowledge and skills, these things are often seen as outside our comfort zones, that is what makes it uncomfortable. By stretching our comfort zones we aquire new knowledges, skills and experiences. This is why if you have experienced a situation before you know how to deal with it next time because you know what to expect. Hope this helps. you learn from the mistakes you've made, and you try to justify why you did them in the first place,we tend to put things in boxes,but when we look back at something in our life's that's turned bad, it always in some respects seems to be better as you've lived that experience and learn ed to live with it and moved on to something a lot better. and some of the memories seem better now than what they might of done at the time it happened if you get me loll.
