Yes, they do towards the end of the 2nd trimester studies show and they can even see light from the sun, during an ultrasound I saw mine put her hand to her mouth to suck on her hand, and then read that that is also common, which is why she probably immediately took to the breast when born, they are instictively born with the sucking reflex, amazing huh they already know so much when born.

Your baby practices opening their eyes at around 32 weeks. They practice breathing and they also do number 1'a and 2's while they are inside your tummy. But if they do a number 2 due labour that is a bad sign as they are in distress and you are watch over and sometimes put on a hormone drip to help push labour on. Not a rise thing to go through, trust me , been there, done that 4 yrs ago and had lillte boy weighing 5lb 6oz

Yes they do. Advances in Ultrasound mean that pregnant women can pay for 3-dimensional ultrasound scanning at no extra risk to the unborn child. The pictures you see are truly incredible, its basically like looking straight through the mums tummy, and with this technique you can see the unborn childs eyes wide open, as well as fantastic detail of its nose, fingers etc.

At around the 10th week the baby's eyelids form and then seal. They don't open till much later in pregnancy. Till very close to delivery. Try visiting a site like storknet.com. They give you a week-by-week progression of your pregnancy explaining such things as this.
