In a standard deck, there are four suits -- heart, diamonds, clubs, and spades.
There are 13 cards in each suit - ace, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, jack, queen, and king.
In some decks there are also two joker or wild cards.
Hope this helps!

There are 13 of each suit:
2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace
There are 4 suits each having the 13 values mentioned above: Spades, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds.
13 * 4 = 52
That makes 52 playing cards total
Most decks also have a least one Joker (which most games do not use)
