Most corporate chains will hire people 16 and up, unless they serve alcohol or sell tobacco or other "adult" products. At 17, if you want a real jump start for later on, see if you can get an internship with a local business as an office assistant or something like that. Things like that look very good on a resume, and are a lot more fun than working at McD's and such.

like Mcdonald's, kfc, movie theatre
or many shops inside of malls
there must be apprentiship for teens, too.
u can learn and get pay at the same time
when i was 17, i worked at Mcdonald's
all the fastfoods pays minimum pay, i think about $7.45 present
if u want any job just for summer; work in factory
it's hard work but they pay over $9
restaurents pays good money with tips combined.
ecxept i don't know if they hire age of 17 because most of them sell alcohol
i heard pizza-hut pays really good as serving person
17 is really young age without much experience
u can find many jobs that pays minimum

If you haven't already, inquire at Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Jack In The Box, Wendy's (if you're in Riverside, CA, I know the manager and the Safety Officer) and Burger King. Perhaps, also Ben And Jerry's.
