All we have left than is philosophy. And you are asking "why being?" And I ask this, how can we answer that question without a belief? And say we do make a belief to construct the means and ends of existence, we may have to keep making up beliefs to really get more and more of the "truth." So, if you do not want to go that route, the other route is to notice everything about and around you, and existence itself is a form of this means and ends you are looking for (but we also have to consider that existence being that of a means and ends is also a belief (does that mean the only other option is meaninglessness?))
