Right now I have the following in Altoids tins:
Batteries (AA, AAA), spare change, magnets, small parts, Altoids.
I take very small strong Neodymium magnets and use these to hold them to the refrigerator and to other tins (they stack nicely, like a miniature file cabinet).
I also make flashlights from them with a 3AA battery holder, a toggle switch, and a couple of white LEDs (and a strong magnet to hold them to magnetic surfaces like refrigerators).
