Actually a tough question...
Gilligan- Topher Grace (he looks like a Gilligan).
Skipper- George Clooney (yes, he's not fat, but he is the older wiser cat who can do comedy).
Mr. Howell- Ian Mckellen (he can be stoggy). Or Kelsey Grammar?
Mrs. Howell- She was the hardest, I think Meryl Streep can pull it off, or maybe Emma Thompson?
Prof.- I first thought Clooney, but Michael Varton would be good!
Ginger- Jessica Simpson if you don't mind bad acting. Scarlet Johansson would be a great knockout for the old silver screen look.
MaryAnn- I first thought Jessica Alba, that's a no brainer, but I have to say that Anna Faris would do a better job.

Gilligan-- Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) could be a fun twist on the original character.
Skipper-- John Goodman, could be pretty funny when getting mad at gilligan!
Professor--Jaleel White-professor with an urkel twist
Mr Howell--Colin Firth--great accent

Ginger--Paris Hilton --not very bright, much like the origional Ginger!
