she's going into middle school which is going to give her a hard time. Some kids even beat up on girls like her because they smell or something.

Buy her a book about hygiene and give it to her in private.

I've found that the very best way to confront someone is this...

Never make it about them or they will get their feelings hurt. If you make it about you or someone else, they will listen.

You can start a conversation about how you need to shave your legs. Something like, "Gosh, I really need to shave! I can't believe that my hair grows this fast. Nothing worse than seeing all this hair all over my legs".

Same thing with the dandruff, but not on the same day unless y'all are getting ready to go out or something and have a reason to talk about that kind of thing. Maybe something like," I saw Suzie the other day. I was standing behind her at the movie and she had so much dandruff on her shoulders it looked like it was snowing outside! Seems like she'd get some shampoo, or at least make sure she does not wear dark colors or brushes herself off once in a while".

Anyway, you can see my point. It would hurt her feelings to say something to her about her own hygiene. Keep it neutral. Good luck.

I know how you feel. I have a friend like that. I was also that friend once. I would maybe tell the mom politely to talk to her daughter... Or tell your teacher who knows the girl. And maybe the best thing is to try to forget about it. How old is your friend anyway?
