We are thinking of relocating and are wondering what is a good neighborhood for a young family? Schools, accessablity to stores etc. are important. We are also still in our twenties and like to go out on weekends sometimes. Any suggestions would be helpfull.

It depends if you are looking to rent an apartment or buying a house. A lot of schools are being built on the West side of Albuquerque and the ramps to the freeway on Coors have been rebuilt recently. The west side has no need to visit the south side of town, they have everything available including the Cottonwood mall. I hope this helps. I just moved from Albuquerque and leased my house in the SE heights close to Tramway, and Kirtland AF Base, it is a nice neighborhood with a new elementary school but the sourrounding is trailer parks.

I think the southeast part of town is nice.

Live near the University. Highland High School is the best in the city. Homes are older, but have character.

No, then the northwest like someone already suggested, near Cottonwood Mall, but it is like California.

If you can afford it, on the east side of the Sandias.

Let's compare ---

July 24, 2006 Recorded Highs:

Phoenix - 114°F
Albuquerque - 94°F

Hmmm... I'll let you choose.
