Could a society survive if everybody left their life to chance?

Well, it depends on your viewpoint really.

My personal viewpoint is that you can't leave things to chance - you have to get what you want, and not wait for it to just come to you, because if you do that, you'll go nowhere.

But, to be balanced, many people leave some things to chance, and sometimes it's just a case of being in the right place at the right time.

So, basically, society likes a mix of both chance, and also getting things themselves. Its just the way life goes.

Society has been surviving so far on chance, time we start a new day we take a chance that it may be our last. Chances is what life's all about, just u and me being here is a chance.

Whether we like it or not, life is 'Chance' or how do you like to call it. Every second we make decisions and we flip a coin more or less, and that can change our entire life.

Of course,we have some kind of control over it;life is given to us to live it,not to control it,so society might be ok like that;leaving to chance...not just sit and wait and abandon our responsibilities :P

If airline pilots, surgeons and nuclear power station technicians started leaving stuff to chance I don't think society would last long.

Let's hope so. Nature works on random chance ironing itself out into something more orderly. It's how evolution works, at any rate!
