We care more about a pretty face then an intelligent one.
Besides, people don't really do much about anything unless they are unhappy or angry ~ and even then it's a poor attempt.
If WE don't like the current system then WE have to change it, stop electing dead beats with selfish agendas and call them on their BS for a change.

you have 50 contestants for MISS AMERICA because each contestant represents one of the 50 states
In presidential election, its usually a republican against a democrat (those being the most popular parties) but its not uncommon to have an "independant" ( someone who doesnt have an alligence to either the republicans or democrats ) run for president
