I have been toying with this idea for a few years and now actually want to see it to fruition. Although, I have been performing professionally for several years now, I have never ventured into writing. I have these ideas in my head, but just not sure where to start with anything. Any and all advice is appreciated.

I am a playwright, and contemplating the same thing. I think the first thing is to figure out who you are going to be on stage - do you want to play yourself, or a character, or mulitple characters? What topics do you want to address, and what kind of character will allow you to do that? What I'm going to do, once I get some stuff written, is try out small sections at an open mic night I go to. Also, if you're into improv, that helps you find your way around a character. Break a leg.

i think you sbhould write down all your ideas, decide on 2 or 3 that are the most realistic and interesting to you and ask people and friends waht they think of your ideas then. now narrow it down to one and start formulating read it to yourself read it to people that you know will be brutally honest and make changes until you are fully satisfied. never settle for less. Good luck.

Doing a one man show would imply that you are doing it by yourself. Do your own writing then.
