So many people hate the US in this world, but for the most part as citizens we try so much to help others who are need. I do not understand. Can the world not seperate our government policies from the average citizen? This is what Bin Laden used as his excuse to destroy the Twin Towers. We pay taxes so we are just as guilty as our government's foreign policy. I wish the media would show the rest of the world all the good things the average American citizen does for others who are need.

I am a CPA. I do understand international economics, obviosuly we need to import and export goods from other countries. My question deals more with the concept of being the world's policeman and sticking our noses in everyone's business. Maybe we should try to be neutral for a change and worry about our own problems here.

Who cares what the "world" thinks? I DO agree that we should mind our own business and not try to run the world. But we should do it because we've certainly got our own problems to deal with.

Well I don't know but I know about the US about becoming a isolationist nation because I don't know what that means. I know though that would try to help a person if they needed my help no matter what country they are from, and I'm a US citizen. If a person judges all the people in one country the same they are very ignorant because a country is just one and the people in it are uncountable, each person that is in a country doesn't necessarily agree with its laws and policies....everybody thinks different, everyone is and has different personalities.American people are just like anyone else. There may be some "bad" peoples in America but that doesn't mean everyone ifs the same.As to the WTC buildings I think that Bin Laden or whom ever it really was who did it did something very wrong. If Bin Laden used what you said as an excuse to do this he was wrong doing this nobody deserves to loose a family member like that or die like that.He killed Innocent peoples doing this(if it was him) they didn't deserve that and believe me I know they didn't deserve this.I had family in there and was watching TV when it happened and believe me I wasn't happy, not at all!Nobody could be happy about such a thing. But well like I was saying I really do know what you mean and I think your right.People who live in America and are citizens and even if their not citizens yet do good things their not all "bad" nor all good, all the countries have their "bad" and good people.People around the world should try to understand this if they dont already. :)

Yes. I think we should bring home everyone who still considers themselves an American citizen. Give all of our soldiers a raise to triple whatever the average American pay is. So if the average American made $10, pay the soliders $30 (for example). Provide them with housing and medical benefits in the region of their deployment/employment. And deploy them to our borders, our marinas, our seas, our air and so forth. Close the borders for the time being. No immigration period. Give illegals the opportunity to take their families home with them, but do deport them.
Have a flat tax with no loop holes or tax breaks. Provide medical care for all citizens. Get rid of everything else until the budget is balanced and we are in the green. This is basic, but i think would help.

It already is.
The US is way too far right winged, at least the republicans are.
And they are in power. Republicans are opportunistic, they wouldn't mind at all to use fraud to win an election. As they did. A democrat would be ashame of doing so, a republican is, maybe not to the outside, PROUD on doing so!
Still no excuse to use terrorism, of course.

Bin Laden is a maniac. He's brought up with maniacal views, that's the whole problem with him. His evil teachers had the most important influence on him. Osama wants to revert about 99,9999% of all humans. He's rather dumb if he thinks he could. But his believe is, that he should try anyway, with deadly force. That's who HIS bible works (never mind the name of the books he follows, the name itself is not the issue). If he might think about it scientificly for a second, he'd knew he had it all wrong.

How can a religion be good, if it's based on fear. Osama follows such deviant religion.

Taxes should be way higher if you want to resolve in country problems. The right wing (who have the power) won't do so, they are way to egoistic. In their view, you have to work hard. If you CAN'T, for whatever reason, they won't have any sorry for you at all.

We can't become an isolationist nation - we (the USA) are far too reliant on sources beyond our economy, oil, of course, being the best example.

I fail to see how paying taxes makes on guilty for the government's foreign policy, unless you're talking civil disobedience here, and I fail to see what even that would accomplish.

If we became isolationist too many people in the world would suffer. We get blasted if we help, we get blasted if we don't help, no matter what we do we are going to upset someone. Clinton didn't do a damn thing while he was in office. Hell Americans were getting slaughtered all over the world. No biggie.....personally I couldn't care what the world thinks anymore. We will do what is right for America. If you want our money and/or our blood, expect we are going to want something in return. Its only fair.

with turds like John Bolton (who has been lobbying the destruction of the UN)

and unilateral decision to invade Iraq by Bush despite reservations by the UN Security council (and no security council vote).

and the Ugly American stereotype abroad.

and the lack of political will to stop the genocide in Darfur.

and the backing out of the Kyoto Treaty

and the violation of human rights on Guantanamo Bay, and Abu Ghraib.

What's good about America? Not much anymore.

Personally I don't really care what the US does. It already is isolationist so how can you even ask if it should become so again? Get over the fact that some people will always dislike you for wrong and perhaps right reasons even if you have not directly decided to be a nation of war.

i imagine it is because we are creatures of extremes. We both love or hate something, and issues are both black or white. maximum folk in this communicate board say that they prefer the conflict ended, yet at the same time, they prefer us to be in contact contained in the affairs of the international. regrettably, after we get entangled, this frequently leads to conflict. What I hear Ron Paul affirming is that shall we be in contact, we are able to commerce and function diplomatic kinfolk, yet we gained't get keen about inner and local conflicts, we gained't occupy yet another us of a for years at a time, and we purely have a conflict if we are attacked. None of this looks Isolationist to me, yet i assume it may to some. i in my opinion imagine we favor to options our own organization, and under no circumstances each and every man or woman elses. we've better than sufficient issues to look after in this us of a. i imagine it is purely being a good neighbor.
