I am going to Universal Orlando. I am staying in the park for 3 nights with my husband and 9 year old daughter. After that I wanted to stay somewhere on a nice beach and relax, maybe snorkel or do some water activities. I was told about the Liki Tiki Village but the reviews are terrible, although it looks like something I might like, most people say stay away. Does anybody else have any ideas?

If you're looking for some beach fun, but don't want to drive the 2 hours into Orlando... try staying at one of Universal Orlando's hotels! The Hard Rock hotel is hip and cool! The beds are PHENOMINAL! And the pool has a "beach" area with sand and a 0 entry... much like the ocean! There's also speakers under water so you can still hear the music!

If you want something a little quieter and more tropical, try the Royal Pacific Hotel! It's got a Polynesian feel to it and a great HUGE pool and beach area!!

Best of all, if you're staying at any Universal on-site hotel, you can use your room key to get to the front of the line for ALL THE RIDES!

Hope you have fun!!

There really aren't any beach resorts near Universal. If you don't mind driving, Cocoa Beach is only about a 45 minute (yes, only 45 minutes, not 2 hours!) drive from Orlando. Or try New Smyrna beach. Daytona may be a little too crowded, but also worth a try. I recommend Cocoa Beach!! There are a number of great hotels to choose from (the DoubleTree is nice!).

You could also stay at the Beach Club resort at Disney which is located at Disney's Boardwalk. It is a little pricey, though. Not really the Atlantic, but they have an amazing pool and it's Disney!!

Hope these help!

Orlando is in the middle of FL - it's close to a 2 hour drive to get to either the ocean or the Gulf (because of crazy traffic). It's more relaxing to just pick a resort that has a great pool area.

Ohh, your daughter (everyone) would have a much better time at Walt Disney Word, especially since it's the Happiest Celebration on Earth. Good luck with that., though.. hope she loves the Cat in the Hat and huge roller coasters, 'cause that's all there is, pretty much.
