i'm not talking about movies aimed mainly at a kid audience where noisy kids are expected.i'm talking about people bringing infants that are under 1 years of age into the theatre along with them that aren't coherent to watch a movie.one scenario:i was watching a star wars movie & sat towards the front rows.the movie began&this lady kept walking back&forth the aisles where i was at to comfort/feed/change her baby's diaper or whatever.the baby looked like a newborn, maybe a few months old.the surround sound of the speakers probably startled the baby to cry.decibals damage their hearing?i couldn't move to another empty seat because the other seats were full.i paid for my ticket hoping to enjoy my movie without much disruption.i don't mind that people walk through the aisles to go to the restroom but this lady was a complete distraction.it didn't seem like she was able to enjoy the movie nor did i:( if people can't find a babysitter, stay home til you find one then go to the movie in peace??

i've encountered this situation many times at the movies.babies aren't to be blamed but their parents should reconsider bringing their babies along? i know everyone has a right to enjoy a movie, people with babies included, but what about the undisrupted movie experience? it's annoying enough that people still disregard the turn off the cell phone ringers message and talk during the movie but what do you think about people bringing babies & subjecting them to extremely loud sounds of the speakers & the baby isn't even old enough to enjoy the movie? answer with your personal opinion/thoughts.if you don't care, don't answer.

some have told me to ask for a refund or exchange my ticket for another showtime but i wouldn't know whether or not there's going to be parents/babies during that showtimes.plus that's inconviencing me and what if i have other plans so i'm not going to wait around for the other showtime.i think the one being disrupted should be compensated with like free movie tickets for a month or free popcorn/soda:)

Our movie theatre has a special matinee for women with babies.

At today's prices, I don't want crying babies and walking mothers to disrupt my evening out. Stay at home and watch videos until their old enough to behave.

Well, in some cases, the plans might be last minute and the parents unable to find a sitter.

Until the infants are about two, parent supervision is supposed to be almost constant. Especially at only a few months old, when the baby is learning to recognize faces and get used to their surroundings.

However, I do agree with you. Though I haven't been distraced in a movie by a baby, children on the bus seem to nearly constantly follow me around. What's more, the mothers never really seem to do anything to try and get their abby to stop crying.

I think the rules should be changed, but I don't know how a comprimise could be found. Maybe the mothers could leave with their baby if the baby starts fussing? That way, other people won't be disturbed. If this happens, the mother should be allowed a few chances for free movie tickets as compensation for missing the movie.

Yes, and I have an infant. I would not even dream of taking him to a movie at this age. The speakers are so loud, I would think they would hurt his ears. Not to mention, I don't like to hear a baby crying when I watch a movie, why should I impose on someone else? Before I got pregnant, I went to see the last Lord of the Rings movie. There was a small child, looked to be about 2 there. Now, those things in the movie that resemble mammoths, scared the sh*t out of him. So he starts crying, I can hear him telling his parent he was scared. What do they do? They tell him to shut up, they're just elephants. I'd hate to see that kid at a circus, lol.

I even noticed small children at the showing of The Passion of the Christ, how messed up is that? Yeah, kids need to know about Jesus, but that movie was so graphical, it bothered me. And with the LOTR kid, we complained to the manager. Not because of the fact he was interuppting our viewing, but mainly because it looked to be the only way to get his parents to get him out of there, he was being scared. They asked them to leave, and his dad(I believe) was pissed. Which saddened me a bit, to think watching a movie was more important than his childs' comfort. But if it's really bothersome, go find the manager and explain the situation. They'll either a) ask whomever to leave, or b) give you your $ back so you can come see it some other time.
I know it's annoying, but don't get mad at the kids(I'm not saying you said you did,it's just something to keep in mind) . It's not their fault their parents are so inconsiderate of others.

Tell the manager exactly what you've said so they get it. Tell them it sucks that you have to come another time when you did nothing wrong. As long as the manager isn't an asshole, you just may score some free passes. But you have to be direct with them. I know it's not exactly the same thing, but when a pizza place kept giving us bad service, we complained and got a 25 dollar gift certificate and the promise it would get better!

I do not think there should be a law but the movie theater companies need to make policies about this. I do not understand why people bring babies or young children to see rated R movies. And I don't mean just babies. I see four year olds in these movies. If you cannot afford a bay sitter, do not go to the movies. You can always wait 6 months for the DVD.

BTW: When this happens, walk out of the theater, ask for your money back and tell the manager why.

I think it is very inconsiderate of others to bring a small child into a movie that is considered a movie that would be enjoyed mostly by an adult group of people. I don't mean porn or anything like that, but a movie that is obviously not a children's movie.

I go to movies to get away from screaming children, not to be with them. If I wanted screaming children I will stay home and watch television.

I don;t think infants should be brought into any movie. It is not good for the baby or the other people. Kid under a year don't really pay any attention to the movie anyway

I have an 8 month old daughter and I don't even plan on bringing her to a movie until she learns to sit still and be quiet and respectful of other. No matter what age the movie is geared at.

yea. I hate it when they talk through the whole movie. If you want to talk during it wait until it comes out on DVD. Like I saw a movie once and these parents are letting their kids run up and down the walkways. it was so annoying.
