What if he thought he had to because he was halucinating that he accidently set off an atomic bomb and he killed a million people. His attempt at suicide would be for guilt. It would be temporary mental illness and could be forgiven with treatment.

I believe this is Hell.... don't get me wrong, I still believe you can go to Hell, like reincarnation.... you'd return to this "living Hell".... having to get it right the next time around.

I don't think that mental illness should count though, because that's not something you can control or choose. So where does the guilt come in?

On that note.....
I have no clue how you could be "forgiven with treatment" is supposed to mean.....

so actually, I'm no use to you...you lost me and I'm confused now.

THANKS ALOT!

Well, to begin with I don't believe in an actual hell. The concept of hell can exist in our mind and our soul can spend time in a hell because we believe we did wrong and must suffer because of it. We call God our father and no father would condemn a child to an eternity in hell, unless of course he was a very unloving, unforgiving father. If someone tries to commit suicide and fails IMO it is because his soul has not finished what it intended to complete and prevented the suicide from occuring. If this person spends his life growing in wisdom and helping others there is no way in hell any creator would condemn him. :-))) Blessings

If you just want to know if you go to hell for that, sane yes, insane maybe. A lot of people assume they are insane because it seems they are. They may not be. If they are not why should they be given any special treatment? Rules are rules. Ultimately there are no exceptions.
