He absolutely shares blame. Her mental illness will well known and he still did nothing to protect the children. I think that is why he has been so vocal to defend her. It's to deflect criticism against his own culpability. He should be in jail at the very least as involuntary manslaughter.

That is right it`s the man`s fault. She was just a poor little girl driven off the deep end by a a a ,MAN.
Give my but a break. Women are not that poor weak things that can not take care of them selves or their kids. She was nuts, may be Mean and hate full c*** that would be a yes.
I think he may be nuts. He is still behind her and still loves her. He was there to day and hugged her.
By the way she was under a doctors treatment at the time and had been.

That man is CRAZY. He talked her into going off of her anti-psychotics so that they could have another kid, and then his mother, who was supposed to be staying at the house to make sure the children were okay with her, neglected to show up. Andrea is insane, and she does deserve to stay in a mental institution for the rest of her life, but her husband is also at least partially responsible for the death of those poor children and should be punished.

Andrea Yates should of at least gotten locked up for life in a mental hospital. Doesn't matter if she was mentally ill when she killed her kids.
If Andrea was a man, she would have gotten the death penalty. She only got the "mental illness" because she's female.

I think he is partly responsible. He forced her to live in a bus early in their marriage, forced her to homeschool the children, wouldn't get her help, didn't make sure she was taking her meds, all the while knowing she was depressed and thought she would hurt one of the kids.
I'm glad she was found not guilty, she'll get the help she needs and not just being locked up.

I would put some of the blame on the husband. He knew that she had mental problems from having the other children. He should of made sure they had no more kids.

Well, I don't know all the details, but if that is what he is like, I have to answer yes. He'll find himself some other woman who needs to be dominated and drive her out of her mind. Hopefully, the kids won't wind up dead the next time.

I'm not sure the facts are exactly as you charactorize them, but the fact remains that SHE drowned the children. I actually was surprised to see the husband supporting his ex-wife, campaigning to have her moved to a mental institution instead of spending her life in prison.

No I do not think it is right and I think the reason he supports her in all this is because he knows that he is responsible also because he just left her by herself with the children.
He knows in his heart that he has to take some of the blame.
