Where do you draw the line with a white lie?

Being overtly honest can be a problem, too.

for example I see that you have a couple of odd habits- should I rag you on it? "Hey, just callin' like i see it" ...?

"Whoa you're really a fat slob!" - no, i don't say things like that to people- it would hurt thier feelings and not produce desired results- is it a white lie not to say what you think?

"Oh hey, you really look nice in that outfit" but your thinking something else. Maybe you just did someone a small kindness and let them have a moment of feeling ok about themselves-

but - lies about personal safety "oh yes the brakes are all fixed now!", or "Yes there are definitely weapons of mass destruction in Iraq". or - Clinton should have said right away, "my fellow Americans, this is really none of your business, but - yes I got a BJ from Monica-" Of course YOU would've been honest about that, ...............rrrrrright????? ...uh-huh...yeah sure....

We should all strive for the truth -- however, I would never tell new parents that I think they have an ugly baby. I would say, "What a sweet little baby." There are some social situations that require us to be less than truthful at times to spare the feelings of others.

I would draw the line at dating -- if a guy says "I'll call you," he better mean it.

The bible does not give lies different colors or ranges. It says that God hates lying. Period.
