I don't actually know the names of any bands that were popular in the baroque era. And of course we don't have any recordings of them so we would only know them by reputation anyway. It was a very happenen time for music. Opera was being invented. Vienna was reputed to have a very hot Opera scene. I guess if I could go back in time I would scout out any band JS Bach was playing with, composing for, or inspiring. He probably had a combo that he jammed with called the BachAnAliens

I'm just not sure there was bands in the 1600's. Concerto's maybe I'm not sure- Musicians; any way Betoven and Mozzart come to mind. They were in that era somewhere - can't say as I have a favorite tho. I keep wanting to say Liberacie but he certainly wasn't 300 years old!

Don't listen to Revenge of the Dumb Blonde. Music has existed since before Christ.

Bach chorales are nice, but I don't really think that's considered "band music". More like... orchestral.
