I used to love My Chemical Romance, and they're still up there on my list, but Avenged Sevenfold is better in my book.
I LAUGH AT YOU ALL who said that Avenged Sevenfold was gay, and that they weren't as hard core. LAUGH hahaha!
Come on, the guys in A7X don't kiss eachother (no offense to Gerard, Frankie, or Bert from The Used)
And Come on, A7X is hard core. They were on the recent Head Banger's Ball: The Revenge.
I love both bands, but they're different. You can't really compare them in that many ways.

both, they each have their own sound and personality and look, they are both very talented bands
