Is the deliberate targetting of civilians not a terrorist tactic? If so then Israel is using terrorist tactics. Regardless of your opinions on Syria/Iran/Muslims/Jews/Lebanon/Palestine/Israel. Forget all that. The simple fact is that Israel is currently using terrorist tactics.

Well historically the leaders of Israel have terrorist roots. Oh dear, how could I say that. Because it is a historical fact. The Israeli national movement was predicated and facilitated by a series of terrorist bombings against British military and Civilian targets. Terroristic bombings to gain politically motivated aims is older than almost every nation on this planet.
Many of those terrorist in the Israeli national movement, if you prefer you can call them freedom fighters, or whatever floats your boat, ended up a the leaders of what is known as Israel today.
And unfortunately, in international affairs people do not forget. So those in the region will always view the Israelis as terrorist, just as the rest of the world will always view Hezbollah or the PLO as terrorist regardless of how mainstream they get.

Ok, everyone, lets drop anti-islamic and anti-semetic sentiments for a moment and go back in time!
The year is 1946! Zionist terrorists blow up the King David Hotel resulting in the deaths of 91 Christians, Muslims, and Jews.
Lets go forward in time now! Im going to skip the murdering of prisoners in the 1967 war and the overall appalling treatment of civilians and the violent seizure of lands during Israels earlier years
1982! Ariel Sharon orders the killing of two refuge camps, resulting in a couple thousand dead muslim arabs! Ariel Sharon later becomes Israeli Prime Minister.
FORWARD AGAIN!
The year is now 1995! Two years after starting peace negotiations with Palestinians, the best meeting in the history of the two groups, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin is assassinated by Yighal Amir, and Israel fanatic who wanted the conflict to continue and considered the muslims arabs to be inferior (For those of you who agree with Mr. Amir, you might be interested to know that Mr. Adolph Hitler said the same things about the Jews!)
Before you get all psycho on me and call me a nazi or a jew hater, look over at the historical facts. The real facts, not the stuff they teach you in Hebrew High School!
And dont think I approve of the Muslim fanatics either. They are the scum of the earth. I just want everyone to know that Israel was founded in terrorism and that we should all be aware of that before we jump to conclusions.

Israel should stop thinking that it can invade/occupy territory that isn't hers. They have a country with internationally well defined borders, but they do not respect them; they keep bugging the Pales tines. Like that issue isn't bit enough a problem right now, going into a neighboring country, occupying territory seems their answer (yet again) to a potential threat; no matter the human cost...
Wikipedia states in a disambiguation page that "The word terrorist can mean:
One who engages in terrorism, a broad and controversial category of acts, usually involving the use of fear tactics against a population."
Lets see this in the context of Israel & the attacks in Libannon:
a broad and controversial category of acts: bombings, raids by tanks
the use of fear tactics against a population: cities targeted for being 'possible' homes of 'potential' members of Hezbollah with the result that hundreds have to flee their home & are scared and without thinking about innocents.
By this definition Israel is acting like a terrorist towards the innocent people living in that particular region of Libannon.
maybe it would help if you saw it in your daily life with an example:
what would you say about 1 human being that shoots all people in a smalltown because one of them might be a vegitarian...
Stupid example, I know, but does Israels goal, glorify the bloodshed?

Israel is a country NOT a terrorist. Now my take on all this terorism bull S* is that-the US has been bombing so many countries for so long, doing so many country power trips, envading ....etc. entire cities demolished...etc. Now a couple years ago 9-11 happens and Us gets all freaked out about terroists and havent stoped since. Dont yall think it was about time that **** happens...how many stones can you throw before someone throws one back? US threw a lot of stones. And how about since 9-11, how many cities have us armies killed and demolished, abused, slaved, emprisoned? Im sure the death count from US since is well into the millions. Now its is real sad that 3000 people died that day....but is it right 5 years later to still be killing thoudsands of people daily in poorer countries? If only USA had as many people killed daily as their solders kill daily....No, its time this **** stopped. Look to little Canada for some example ways to act and bring peace. And USA, stop bitching people died while youre still killing thousands.

It seems ridiculous to me that some people consider Israel to be the terrorist in this situation. Is Israel not supposed to defend themselves against extremist Muslims who would do anything to destroy the entire country of Israel?

You know...I have seen people ask why isreal was doing this. The leader of Hezbollah answered that question himself yesterday. "I did not expect this repsonse from Isreal..I thought we would negotiate a prison exchange with Germany like in the past". Isreal is trying to show these militant groups they are tired of these attacks/kidnappings.

its because Israel is seen as ruthless in their retaliatory attacks. It seems to me that Israel needs to be more targeted in dropping their bombs. Too much collateral damage.
