Its entirely up to you. Some parents like to prepare the nursery straight away others nearer the due date. If you have the crib and would like to prepare the baby's room now then there is no reason why you shouldn't. Congratulations and I wish you a successful and healthy pregnancy!

My babies were in a bassinet in my room for at least the first 4 months. If you will be nursing that is really handy. I didn't use the crib until my baby was a few months old and put him in there for naps. Then when he was sleeping through the night that is where he stayed. Don't worry about it. When you have a newborn in a bassinet sleeping all day you can find time to put the crib together. Relax and enjoy being pregnant.

Ideally 1 to 2 months early in case you need it sooner than expected. Also install your car seat around the same time. And here's some advice if this is your first. Put the crib together in the room it will stay in. This will save you a lot of heartache.

It depends. We didn't set our first child's crib up until she was 2 months old. We bought a bassinet and used that for the first 2 months. We did set the bassinet up when I was about 7 months pregnant though.

My wife is 7 weeks and I have already remodeled the baby's room (Installed new hard wood floors and painted). As soon as we have the baby shower (in January) I will put the crib together (Due in MArch).

Set it up when you start "nesting" thats the time in your pregnancy when you have an un-expected burst of energy, that usually means the baby is comming soon, but after you set it up make sure you cover it with a drop cloth so it dont get dusty or dirty.

I would say about six months along, because the baby could survive being born at like 28 weeks. So I would venture to say always be prepared.

I had mine set up when I was 7 months pregnant. I didn't want to wait much beyond that, because you never know if the baby will come a little early.

About 2 months before. You will be doing lots of "nesting" folding and refolding, moving things around, buying stuff you don't need.
it is part of the process of getting ready.
Get lots of rest and pamper each other, since you won't have any time for that in awhile. READ!Good luck.
