Find a great counselor - a professional.

In the meantime, watch the child's diet. It has been proven that food additives - the stuff you can't pronounce - affects behavior. Also, food colorings, especially red food color, brings out the worst in some children.
The Feingold diet is aimed at removing harmful additives from the diet. Look it up on the diet at

Lots of patience!! I know how hard it can be. My son has that along with many other issues. Can be very frustrating at times. Most people that have never dealt with it don't realize whats going. You don't know how many looks and stares I have gotten over the years, he's only 10, like why don't you make that kid behave? Wish it were that easy!!!! Society can be very cruel to people who are different, especially other children. He's a good kid, as I am sure yours is also. Hang in there, pray for him! God will help, believe in Him.

Take him to his pediatrician - have him properly diagnosed and get counseling. It really only a combination of medication and counseling that will help with an ADHD child who is violent. He might also have Oppositional Defiant Disorder, it's not uncommon in ADHD children.
I wish you luck in dealing with this, and encourage you to advocate for your child on all levels (including at school)- you're the only one who really knows your child.

get your child some help as soon as possible. I also have a child like this, and he is very abusive. Medication is not always the answer. He or she needs something to do almost constantly, and someone to talk to when they are losing it. Get help. DO not try to solve this on your own. It is a battle you can't win, without help!

Try Starflower Oil capsules, or Evening Primrose oil as a natural remedy. My brother had it when he was younger, but did eventually grow out of it. And try not to give your child orange squash as it contains a lot of E numbers that tend to make them go a bit mad.
Goodluck

Show no fear and talk to them like a regular child. I work with children that are bad as hell and I show no fear (well that because im not scared) and I talk to them like hold up now im the adult you are the child and they live by that. I get nothing but respect. Children are like dogs they smell fear and they feed off of it. They will treat you like you are nothing I have seen them do it to other adults and tried to tell the adults what I know. You give them options but limited options. With me it is like a dictatorship not a democracy. They get to abide by my rules or get out of my house ( it is not actually a house more like a classroom).

Probably by getting the child on medication. Talk to your school counselor and your doctor. They will be more than happy to help you get him on medication before school starts. Good luck.
