This movie was a contrite, uncomfortable, ball of crap. While Paul Giamatti was pretty good, everyone else decided to overact their roles. Of course they didn't have much to work with from the plot. Basically it looked like it was meant to be a vehicle that showcased M. Knight's acting skills by making him one of the main characters, as well as turn Bryce Dallas Howard into a star. You get the uncomfortable feeling that M. Knight is a little infatuated by BDH, because of the way all the other characters gush over her - and she is not that good, does not have that much of a role, and is NOT attractive in this movie. Then the plot is a sopping mess. I was not the only one - throughout the movie I could hear people whispering and snickering at the more rediculous points. It was distracting. There were funny parts, but all in all, the movie took it self too seriously, and left you shifting in your seat a lot.

The funny thing about this film..if you go to the official website..its not supposed to be a horror movie..and there is no super big twist in it like all of M.Night's other movies...

I want to see it really bad too...the story is really interesting..and M.Night actually wrote it for his kids...its a fairy tale kind of...
