I heard somewhere about this scientifically proven Japanese method to improving eyesight. It has something to do with clipping a piece of paper to a clothesline and watching it move really quick in the wind. If you know anything about this, I NEED DETAILS PLEASE!

Also, any other unusual and effective visual exercise techniques that you know are more than welcome! Thanks!

Improving your vision by reversing the deterioration process is perhaps a remote possibility but it may well include a lot of wishful thinking. Probably a bit like trying to reverse the ageing process. You can certainly slow it down a bit but reversing it is still out of reach. If eye problems are due to some temporary defect such as eye strain then, of course, the defect can be overcome You can certainly slow down the sight deterioration process with a good diet that includes antioxidants. These can be found in fruits and vegies that are coloured a bright orange, yellow, red and purple and they include carrots, pumkin, oranges, melons, tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, bilberries, purple grapes, beetroot, red cabbage, etc. Health supplements from a health store may also help in this regard and one such product is called "Vision Defence Formula" and is based on bilberry and also contains lutein, beta carotene, Vitamin B2, zinc, Vitamin C and some other components. A Yahoo search for bilberry + eyesight may be of interest to you.

Really, the only things that will improve your eyesight is either glasses, contacts, or surgery. I work for an ophthalmologist and he says eating carrots to inprove vision is an old wive's tale.

I have been eating carrots for the 44 years that I have been wearing glasses and from personal experience, I can tell you that it hasn't helped one bit.

i've heard of a technique that believes that you should NOT constantly wear your glasses/contacts because you're not letting your eye muscles get any exercise so they just stop working well. instead you are supposed to try to wear them the least possible amount of time (unless of course u need it to drive or something) and supposedly your eye sight regenerates, by making your muscles stronger. called the BATES system.
