That was an astonishing experience for you?? Wow. Maybe she didn't see it. Why should she have to swerve to avoid a toy that someone left in the road and obviously didn't care enough to go get? Get a grip. And how could you tell she was a business woman when she was in a car? Was she madly waving a briefcase out the window?

Since you were in your driveway and noticed the ball, why didn't you go and remove it from the street?
You could have put it on the nearest lawn, I'm sure the kid it belongs to would have found it soon enough.
Although in this situation it was a female driver, it does not mean that men do not do the same type of things.
People nowadays are in a perpetual rush and if the situation does not affect them in a negative way, they will not stop. They do not care for other peoples property, only their own.
I'm sure that if she would have run over a bike or another toy that would have caused damage to her car, she would have stopped and found the owner of the object in question to complain and get money to fix her car. She also would have reacted differently if it was her child's ball that got run over.
Also, people are now so busy talking on their cell phones and/or doing other things while driving that they don't look at the street for obstacles. And, when they do happen to hit something, they will continue on their merry way unless their car won't allow them to do so.
The lesson to learn from this.... always make sure you know where your things are, don't leave them lying around where they could get in someone else's way.

I try my hardest not to run over things in the road no matter what it is. As for the hand-eye coordination in another persons post, sorry but I don't agree. I've been driving for ten years and have never had an accident. If women were such terrible drivers then why are the insurance rates lower for females? That's just an interesting fact I think. Oh and women have better peripheral vision. Savvy?

adult males are far greater effective at ability and racing, having greater effective spacial skills, yet females are slower greater careful drivers. There are exceptions to each rule, and that i continuously element out that Shirley Muldowney grew to become into between the appropriate drag racers ever, however the appropriate driving force of all time by using a techniques has been Michael Schumaker of F1 repute. greater effective and safer are 2 thoroughly countless issues-- females many times are much less aggressive in using that could cause them to safer on the line, whilst as a manner to be a stable racer, one should be an rather aggressive driving force. so as an entire females are safer drivers and adult males are greater effective drivers.

That was weird. And she didn't even acknowledge that she had un over it? I have never run over anything deliberately, and do try to avoid running over anything, because you never know what else might be going on. I have seen guys deliberately aim for some thing, sometimes even an animal. I have to admit that I am often amazed at other drivers, and I can't say one gender or the other is better or worse.

No ..I have not deliberately ran over anything...But I started to run over a large box setting in the middle of a street, at the last minute i decided not to. After I passed, I looked in my mirror and what I saw made my blood run cold. I saw a small child come out from under the box, be live me I would never run over anything after that

I'm not justifying what she did, nor can I explain it, but kids need to learn to take care of their things. If their toys are that important to them, they should put them away when they are done playing with them. Maybe their ball getting ran over will teach them a valuable lesson. The kids in my neighborhood think they rule the road. They play in it constantly and won't even move for cars. Sorry, I'm getting of the subject......

As a woman I have never ran over anything on purpose, but as far as this woman you are refering to I would say shame on her for doing that. But I dont think gender really matters on this situation because I have seen men do this same thing. I think as a whole, people now a days just dont know how to drive in general. There are way too many distractions ie.phones, phones and more phones. I have noticed many people drive like dummies and they have been different genders, ages and races. People just lack common sense...especially when they drive.

My personal opinion is that she was daydreaming, which causes a lot of accidents and when asked what they saw just before the accident, they can't be sure of what they saw.
I took defensive driving courses and this was one of the major problems they spent a lot of time on. Women worried about what they will make for supper, or just thinking about their stressed out life and forget they are driving a several ton weapon.
