i have a lt300 suzuki quad and the timing and carb setting are all correct, but the quad quits after a few seconds and shuts off. The plug is new the air filter has no water and is very clean. Can anyone tell me or explain what the problem could be?

Do a compression test - might need piston & rings.
LT300 is a 4 stroke.
Adjust valves - make sure they're not tight and do a leak down test to make sure they are not leaking.

I would be willing to bet the carb is gummed up. Try taking it off and cleaning it out. 2 cycles can gum up a carb like no bodys buisness.

Clogged jet in the carb, or clogged fuel filter most likely.
