i have never liked baseball until now and i just like the whitesox and mariners wich one should i like

The Mariners, all the way. First off, the Mariners play in one of the most gorgeous parks in all of professional sports. Secondly, the Mariners are the underdog (but after the moves they're making at the deadline poised to take the pennant in a wildly exciting next 2 months)... And who doesn't love to root for an underdog? Thirdly, the Mariners have Ichiro, the most exciting player in baseball, and some of the most exciting young pitchers in JJ Putz, Felix Hernandez, Gil Meche, and Mark Lowe. Sure, you could go with the safe bet and root for the White Sox since they won the world series and are the big hot baseball commodity right now, but that's BOOOORRRRINNGGG! Root for the Mariners :)

No doubt its the Mariners.
1) Mike Hargrove doesn't make a big deal over having a pitcher not hit a batter like Ozzie Guillen does.
2) The Mariners are not that far from the division lead, so yes, they are competing for a spot in the postseason.
3) The Mariners do not have a general manager (White Sox GM Ken Williams) that doesn't call a former player (Oakland Athletics DH Frank Thomas) an idiot, let alone that "idiot" player comes back to its old stomping grounds (U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago) and makes its former general manager look like a complete jackass after his first two at-bats result in two home runs.
