you mean like lyrics, melody, and words that can be repeated around children?

I think hip hop could use more topics and a variety of personalities. Instead of everyone being the same. The colaborations need to stop. They're not even exciting anymore. Just guaranteed. We need more black bands like Earth Wind and Fire, Kool and The Gang and bands like that. But, I don't really know what else you could do to rock and pop.
From an instrumental point of view, I wish they'd bring back synthesizers and sounds from '80's music but you're probably not talking about that, are you?

Yeah, message. Once upon a time before corperations came to dominate the music industry, music actually had a purpose and spoke of human experiences. Now, they just seem to dabble in neuroticism and manic like cycles of emotional distress.

Absolutely. It's interesting that a song tells one story, and practically spells it out for you (I'm reffering to most songs, not all) With a Symphonic piece, you could tell a thousand stories from the same piece, but the catch is you have to think for yourself. Classical isn't something casual to listen to, whereas nowaday's music you can put on without thinking about it. With the "multi-tasking" generation, we don't like devoting our attention all on one source.

yeah - the music. These days its all just about the drums and frighteningly loud guitars or horrid squeaky beeps in clubs. There are no more meaningful lyrics, good tunes and they are almost never written by the artists so they don't have any meaning.

Truth and originality. It seems like most artists all sing about the same thing. Why not try and reach outside the box for a change.

Good musicians. There's a couple out there but nothing compares to the musicians of Classic Rock.

Real Talent. Most artist today are just redoing songs that have already been done. How about a new song for a change?
