Yes, I liked it. I thought they depicted the story pretty well other than they didn't show Herb Brooks at his worst, which was probably a good thing. Although I thought they did a good job of explaining why he was as hard as he was on the boys. They built the excitement up well also. Even though you know how it turns out it was still exciting waiting for it to happen.

I loved the movie Miracle. I saw it in the theater and, I might have shed a tear or more (probably more) even thought I knew the outcome because I watch it back in 1980. I bought the movie the day it came out on DVD. It was great because Best Buy had a special for both the movie and the documentary. I bought both. I still watch the last 1/2 hour when I run on my tread mill because it gets me pumped up. Herb Brook's "This is Your Time" speech sends chills up my spine every time I hear it.

This movie is great because the recurring motif is about guys from different backgrounds and even from college teams that were fierce rivals coming together to form their own team that was as close as family. It really showed what a great coach Herb Brooks was by bringing this group together and then inspiring them with the confidence to beat the Russians. Disney did a great job!

While it is not neccesarilly the greatest hockey movie of all time -- both Mystery, Alaska and Slapshot are better -- Miracle is still a great movie that makes me proud to be an American.

Nobody outside of the United States liked this movie, it has been remade 4 times and the story still doesn't have a different ending so lets move along.

Love it, but the real fun is in the outtake footage.

Mantenuto dropping gloves in the tryouts with a goalie twice his size and *tromping* him -- the choreographed fight he's in later is nothing next to the real scrap.

I took my then 6 year old son and told him that it was a history lesson. He made me buy the DVD when it came out.
What a great movie.
