Oh, for God's sake. How can people still use the word "defend" in reference to what Israel is doing?
Going into someone's country, bombing buildings, cutting off main roads, bombing an airport to prevent innocent people from escaping, killing over 300 people, injuring thousands, leaving scores more homeless, and refusing to stop attacks AFTER FOURTEEN DAYS is NOT the definition of defense. It's acts of aggression. Hitler was deemed a tyrant and was stopped because of what he did to the Jews. So why is everyone acting like bloody fools when the Jews themselves are doing exactly what he did?
And America's stance? "We want world peace and global democracy, but we will continue to support Israel's actions, even though so many lives have been clearly wasted."
To any rational Jews, I will say this. The Lebonese people have no power over Hezbollah. THEY CANNOT STOP WHAT HEZBOLLAH IS DOING. But two wrongs DO NOT make a right. There is no "well, they started it first", because this makes no sense. If I punch you, do you have a right to punch my brother or sister? Or should you inflict the pain on me, since I did the same to you?
The Lebonese people did not do anything to Israel. Hezbollah did. Therefore, Israel's fight should be with Hezbollah and not Lebanon.

How about the US "accidentally" bombing the Chinese embassy in Cosovo (1996)?
This is a war, in war accidents happen. We do not blame the Hezbollah for this, we take responsibility. By the way we also always regret the killing of innocent civilians in any military operation we make, did Hezbollah ever regret the killing of Israeli civilians. No!!!! Why? Because they are the targets of this attack.
It's really sad. Israel halts it's military operations, which are legitimate, allowing terrorists to attack and kill our own civilians, just because we are ashamed of what the world has to say. Tell me of any other country that does not respond in a military operation when it is attacked. In Israel it has happened many times. I say no more! We aren't asking for anybody's permission. We will defend our-self, and unlike our enemies we will avoid innocent casualties almost at any cost.
BTW we also shot down one of our own helicopters by accident, do you think we did that on purpose?

it was no "accident" when Hezbollah crossed the border and killed 8 Israelis and kidnapped 2 others. they did it to start a war.in Israels defense that U.N. outpost was in a Hezbollah controlled city they got hit in the crossfire. Israel has said they made a mistake but the U.N. and all of its people should have been ordered out of there so Israel could do what it has to do to protect its people from the "terrorists" because the U.N. sure as hell isn't......... Hezbollah started this war Israel WILL finish it

The only shame Israel carries is their stupidity at believing the UN could accomplish anything in Lebanon. Putting so called peace keepers there did nothing but waste the money of member Nations and give lazy people some light duty. Kofi Annon should get tossed on his butt for being so corrupt and ineffective.

Yes, your right it is the UN's fault , they were fully warned about attacks increasing in that area and should realize there is no safe haven as long as the terrorists imbed there useless ness into the civilian surroundings.....its a shame that hezbollah has caused all this beauty in lebanon to be destroyed because of there ignorance, I totally agree with you, hezbollah should be wiped out...

Should we be ashamed of defending ourselves too? No they should not be ashamed. People die in war, especially if they are in a war zone. Yes even innocents, observers, and non combatants. Sometimes even by friendly fire. It doesn't mean they did something wrong it means there was an accident...Period.
