how is it that most of the people who hate rap would rather listen 2 some band scream at the top of their lungs about nothing...and one of the stupidest things i hear rap haters say is rappers have no talent (notice everyone who ever said that CANT rap) so it really doesnt make sense and if the tried in front of people they'd get booed and humiliated people who say you need no talent to rap must have never actually heard a real lyricist and must be talkin about that mainstream bullshit like young jock or some weak **** like that and dont listen to real thought provoking rap and i can name atleast 15 rappers off top of my head who if you heard them rap you'd probly think "damn that was" deep but most people are too closed minded to give it a chance

Anyone can rap. Doesn't take talent to talk. Takes talent to play guitar, drums and bass. Some metal sings too, so don't be generalizing, now.

Try rephrasing your question. "Why do so many people dislike Rap music?" Sounds alot better.........

Now as to your question. At 35, I've watched rap from it's beginings in the Pre-Run DMC days till Today. I can safely say I 've never been a fan of the genre. The rapper lacks basic singing skills or plays an instrument. The music tends to be based heavily on "sampling," rather than orignal compositions. It's also the only music form that has people getting shot or beat up at it's awards shows. Seriously, when was the last time Garth Brooks tried to shoot up Randy Travis at a CMA's show??? (never). It's biggest crime however is that it been the worse influence on a culture in 40 years. The Hip hop lifestyle has been a negative one over all. Anytime a Rapper in jail (Lil KIm) is a bigger hero than America's 2nd Black Astronaut Stephanie Willson on STS-121, you have got a problem. Overall, it's music with no staying power. Elvis has been dead for 29 years. yet his music is timeless an is still on the radio today. I really doubt there will be a Classic Rap station playing the best of 2 PAC any time soon..........

Look, rap can be okay. Just so far, there are few rap songs that I've heard that I liked. I mean, Bob Dylan was credited with the first rap. The thing about it is the obscenity, the language, the violence that it supports. It is a truth, a harsh reality, but it is the no remorse that show in their, um, song. I can't think of many rap songs that show emotion other than anger and feelings of injustice. Also, rap doesn't have any correlation to the music behind it. Does that make sense?

I think there is a difference between rap and Hip Hop. Nelly, D4L, The Ying Yang Twins, Yung Joc they are rappers, 2 Pac and Biggie are Hip Hop Artist. Hip Hop artists have talent they tell stories and their songs have a message, rappers make a song about anything ex. laffy taffy, It's goin down. Anyone CAN rap, not everyone can make good music.

It lack's originality 90% of the music is old 70's & 80's music with new words.Granted ther are some thought provoking rappers like Dead Prez or Public Enemy but they're too few & far between.

I personally have nothing against RAP music. But what my beef is with the lifestyle it glamorizes (no responsibility, drug use is OK and in some cases required, treating women like dirt or worse in some isolated cases killing police officers is OK and or expected and the life of a criminal is prefered over one of taking care of others).

One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Most popular music today is made by professional musicians, even the "weak ****".
