She should take more pride in her work.
I let her live in servants quarters and give her Sundays off! It not like I beat her (I really should). Every Christmas I give her our dinner leftovers.

1) Because you allow her too. She needs a place to vent her frustration and you, her employer allow it. I know that I could not complain to my boss on a regular basis without risking being removed from my position (transferred, or terminated). or
2) She is a habitual bitcher and just likes to complain - if you ask her to stop she probably will - but you will then become her topic of complaint to someone else.

Maybe she's lonely. Maybe you should give her 2 days off a week and pay her more. Maybe you should give her a big fat turkey of her own instead of your leftovers.

You are terrible....I have a maid too, but i treat her like my sister.. really when I read what you wrote in here made me upset. You should not treat her like that. If you were her, maybe you are worse than that.
