The fighting will never stop. Israel should have been created in a different part of the world.

Since we are Israel's biggest allies maybe the US should have given up some land for the creation of their state. There has been so many senseless deaths over there. You do not need to be on certain land to be close to God.

Actually there was a Jewish settlement there before Truman recognized Israel in 1948. The declared themselves an independent state and asked us for recognition and later support.

Should it have been put in a different place? Well, Israel strategic location aided our foreign policy goals during the Cold War, and is aiding our War on Terror. Of course it can be said that Israel's existence is the reason for the Terrorist activity, but such does predate Israel's existence. France and England cut up the region after the First World War to exploit tribal differences, destabilize the region and secure the oil sources.

And in reviewing some of the answers you are getting, I think many people need to dig into the history of the region.

You perhaps do not have enough information to understand the situation or the creation of Israel. And so where would you have had the create it - in the "deep south" with all the nice past and present KKKers?

The world was a different place in 1948. And the holocaust was not that long ago.

Why not apply your question to other places where countries were simply created out of the blue and where many died?

For example: Perhaps the US, Mexico and Canada should not exist because so much bnllod shed led up to their creation?

Get some perspective.

I think this is the most intelligent question about the Middle East
I have seen on this board to date.

He had a lot of disenfranchised Jews. I'm not sure what else
he could have done with them (not that it was entirely his
decision, but if for the sake of argument it was...)

I wonder if this all would have worked better if it was packaged
better - that is, there had been economic consideration for
the land.

Does this feel like putting American Indians on a reservation?

On top of the pointless death and international unpopularity for Israeli's, the US will suffer because we are intractably tied to whatever Israel does. This is a big reason many Muslims hate America.

Why? Christ replaced right into a Jew and replaced into from that section. They divided winds up by tribes, no longer by subculture or perhaps some 2000 years in the past the Romans ruled it! i do not realize why human beings imagine the Jews do not belong the position the are. it is who inhabited the realm for thousands of years!

Thats a good question.
The Jewish people would say no, god wants them to have Juruselem.
Muslim's tend to disagree, especially those that lost land for the creation of Isreal.
Mistake? I dont know.
Its as good of an excuse for a war as any.

Where were the Jews supposed to go? They wanted to go back to their homeland. And Israel was their homeland from 3,500 years ago. Everywhere else they went they were persecuted.
